Welcome to the Titchmarsh Playing Fields Play Area Redevelopment Project web page. This page will be updated regularly as the project progresses to keep you informed about the latest news, progress and developments.
As you know, the village benefits from the use of a much-loved play area on the playing fields. This area has begun to deteriorate over recent months to such an extent that some pieces of play equipment are no longer safe for use and have been temporarily taken out of use – a plan is in place to repair the affected items.
The Playing Fields Committee has begun investigating replacing the entire play area with a consultation process; this was initially with the school but now we are widening the consultation to the wide community and users of the play area. So that we can design a play area to meet the needs of your family and the whole community, we would appreciate it if you could fill in the short form below with your thoughts on what sort of thing you would like to see. We can then collate these ideas and begin the formal process of developing a design that will try to meet the needs of as many in the village as is possible.
To put things in perspective, after an initial quotation to re-develop the whole play area, we are looking at having to raise in the region of £80-100,000 to allow this project to go ahead. Once the consultation and design is complete we will apply to various organisations for funding for the project before work can begin.
To give you an idea of the timescales involved, our objective is to complete the consultation process by Autumn 2017 and then develop some designs so that we can apply for funding during 2018. Once this is in place we will be able to complete the project but do not think that this will realistically be before Spring/Summer 2019.
You can also help in other ways. We are always looking for volunteers to join us on the Playing Fields Committee to help run the area and to organise and work on our events. If you are interested, we would love to hear from you.
